Print your own Birth Announcement

Congratulations you are a new parent or are soon to be one and decided to personalize, design and print your own birth announcements.  This task is not as complicated as you might think and of course our printing idea today is to help you do it with style.  The tough part is not doing it; it’s deciding what to do.

Because a birth announcement is the bearer of the great news to loved ones, anything can be used as a possible theme; from the traditional stork delivering a baby to a theme related to the day it was born, the season, the time, we can go on an on…

Some themes are:

  • Travel -- luggage stickers, maps, train tickets
  • Vehicles -- bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, hot air balloons, hang gliders
  • Books -- famous quotes, favorite authors, memorable characters
  • Military -- Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines
  • Sports -- baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, football, skiing, tennis, cheerleading
  • Newspaper -- front page, classifieds, advertisements
  • Movies -- genres, movie stars, movie quotes, movie cameras, film
  • Magazine cover -- 'Baby Times', 'The Milky Way', 'Snooze Day'

Fortunately for every idea, there is a printable clipart image, digital photo or combination of both use you own style make it special, funny, give it that personal statement.   You’ll need a few things to get this printed once you’ve got the idea and theme.

  • Computer -- desktop or laptop, with required software installed.
  • Software -- basic publishing, greeting card, photo editing, or word processing.
  • Printer -- inkjet or laser.
  • Printer Ink -- make sure your inkjet cartridges are fresh for a sharp look.
  • Clipart and Borders -- essential elements to the theme and overall look of the birth announcements.
  • Paper , Vellum or Cardstock Paper
  • Envelopes -- make sure the finished product fits inside.
  • Stamps -- if your design has added embellishments, weigh the finished product to make sure you are using enough postage when you mail them.
  • Embellishments -- optional additional design elements; rubber stamps, stickers, ribbon, glitter, charms; all available at your local craft store.
  • Photo Spray Adhesive or Glue -- also optional.

Make sure it has your baby's full name, date of birth, time of birth, length, and weight somewhere on the birth announcement. You may also choose to add a personal message, or parents' and grandparents' names, but be sure you allow room for all of this in your design. Use a smudge-free, acid-free pen if you choose to handwrite this part of your project.
