Printer Ink: How can I save?
It doesn’t matter if you have an inkjet or a laser, a color or monochrome, an all-in-one or a single use device, all of them sooner or later will need INK. We’ve covered the insight on ink cartridges and let you discover you toner cartridge but the main actor of this experience is the printer ink needed to fully stamp your creations in paper. Those unique creations can be from the simplest letter to a business brochure, a presentation; pictures for home or images that amaze the beholder.
The printer ink can be found both as liquid and as powder. To enlighten our minds we quote the following from wikipedia “Ink is a complex medium consisting of comprising solvents, pigments, dyes, resins, lubricants, solubilizers, surfactants, particulate matter, fluorescent, and other materials. The components of inks serve many purposes; the ink’s carrier, colorants, and other additives are used to control flow, thickness, and appearance of the ink when dry.”
But what can you do to save on printer ink?
• Plan ahead. Think about the kind of material you are going to print and if you need best quality over draft mode. Change your font size, your margins your colors if you don’t really need full printing quality. Always use the preview section for your photos and you won’t only save on ink but on specialty paper. Take your time before printing and you’ll definitely save.
• Black only. If you have a color inkjet printer you use both cartridges even if the text is black and white. Change your settings of Print Properties to Black Ink. And that way you make sure the color cartridge doesn’t run out.
• Use an Ink Saving Software. Yes there is actually software that helps you save on printer ink. Basically what it does it serves as a mediator between your print driver and your printer and you can choose how much ink you want to save. The software is called Inksaver and of course I’ll give you a more detail look in future post.
