New HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press

In order to increase marketing effectiveness and lower cost for product labeling, HP announced today that companies can acquire the New HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press.

This new printer combines speed, size format and streamlined digital workflow to offer different advantages than conventional label printers. The HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press can print up to 7 colors, and includes a new improved white which is very important for printing on metallic label stock as well as flexible packaging. At 4-color speed, the press prints at 30 meters (~98 feet) per minute. Featuring the same high quality for which HP Indigo's label presses are known for, the press prints on a broad range of media from 12- 450 microns including thinner flexible packaging substrates and folding carton as well as label and shrink sleeve media. The press repeat length of 980mm (38.58") permits higher productivity less waste and lower costs per label.

“Over the past few years, digital printing has fast become a new mainstream printing process for short-run, profitable label production. With the introduction of the new HP Indigo WS6000, digital printing is moving to a higher profitability, medium-run, high-performance industrial label press operation,” said analyst Mike Fairley, director of strategic development for Tarsus Expositions and Publishing’s Label Group. “The WS6000 would seem to be a converters’ ideal production solution in today’s cost-competitive world.”

I checked out one of these in a local store recently. If you are someone who needs to run a lot of labels, on a consistent basis, and wants them to be multi-colored, and professional-looking, this might be well worth the reasonable cost.

Depending on the price I think that might very handy! I've been outsourcing my labels for my homemade craft business, but given my recent surge in sales I might be able to afford my own label printer. Thanks for posting this!

I try to avoid having a printer anywhere carpeted but sometimes you just can't help it. Ink stains like hell, and it's really hard to take off when you don't know what you're doing. Well now next time I won't have to call in professionals.
