The day started, you spend the morning preparing everything to be printed. You send the command and stand by the printer where you find a message that says: “Drum Life Low” or even worse “Drum Life Out”. Well we have a few questions and answers.
1- How long does a HP C4153A Drum unit last?

2- What is their yield rate?
The 8500/8550-drum kit is rated for 50,000 pages for black and white (B&W), 12,500 pages for color. These printers use four-color process; it takes four “life” rotations of the image drum when printing in color. B&W would only take one “life” rotation, thus when printing in color, the drums have a shorter life.
3. In case you get a Drum Life Out message. How do I install a new drum unit?
a. Turn the printer off. b. Remove the drum from the printer. c. Close the drum drawer without the imaging drum installed. d. Turn the printer on. e. Wait for the printer to display INSTALL DRUM KIT. f. Install the new imaging drum.
4. How to buy OEM or remanufactured Drum units?
