MICR Toner Issues and Solutions
If you’ve found that TrueType MICR fonts for the HP P1005, P1006 and P1505 appear faint or have a thinner stroke that it should. This post is to let you know that it is NOT a Toner Problem. Usually what we think that we are having toner issues and maybe even feel inclined to change the MICR toner cartridge.
The reason that specific issue is that newer printers read the font itself, if the MICR font doesn’t have the proper stroke width the signal strength of the characters will decrease. If that is the case this warning is to let you know that the result is that scanners will reject them and well you probably can figure out the rest.
What can be done? Well definitely this problem must be solved earlier rather than later one thing to do is to get your checks analyzed by printing experts. Another way to fix this problem is to adjust the print density of your laser printer. Following the printing steps:
· Open the “Properties of your Printer”
· Then select Device Settings Tab
· Set the print density to 5 (the darkest)
Another solution can be to replace the font with a bolder MICR font. If you are using the Advantage TrueType MICR font and have the possibility, you can just bold it. If that is not an option then replace the font. Obviously using the right MICR toner is very important but we are glad to have the best variety of compatible MICR toners available at the great low prices.
