How to Do Duplex Printing
Duplex printing is nothing other than printing on both sides of the paper; it is also known as double-sided printing and two-sided printing. By taking advantage of the paper from both sides this type of printing option allows you to save up to 50% on paper use. Saving paper use has its advantages, lowers the cost of your printing, and saves the environment by utilizing resources to the fullest. Here are some tips to take into consideration for best results:
Tip 1.- Printer Duplex Printing Option: Newer printer models come with built in double sided printing capabilities. Printers can either have a duplex printing paper tray or other printers like some HP Printers have an accessory that allows this option. Check your printer’s owner manual or your printer settings options.
Tip 2 – Manual Duplex Printing Option: If your printer does not do it on its own then you can do so printing it manually. Make sure you print odd pages first then turn paper ink side down and print even pages. It is best to print sets with no more than 6 pages to avoid printing mistakes and paper waste and paper jams.
Tip 3 – Paper Options: When printing on both sides it is important to make sure you set the printer to the layout you need. When using heavier paper options like Brochure, Flyer, Bond or Linen paper it would be best to opt in for the Manual way of double-sided printing.
Tip 4 – Ink Options: When using two-sided printing as a saving option it is also a good idea to save on printer ink. If the document is not very important use a draft mode printing that allows you to save ink on your ink or toner cartridge.
