Definition of Remanufactured Printer Ink

The question arises as what exactly is remanufactured printer ink. A "remanufactured" of "aftermarket alternative" inkjet or toner cartridge can be defined as a cartridge which has been serviced, cleaned, refilled with toner or ink and possibly had a few components parts repaired or replaced. Some regular cartridges that have been remanufactured for example are the Canon PGI-5BK, Brother TN-115BK, Dell M4640 and HP 74xl ink cartridges. In many cases, remanufactured toner cartridge do not have new drums; they instead refurbish the original drum and send it out for another cycle.

Remanufactured or compatible ink cartridges can be every bit as good as OEM cartridges, especially if they have been processed in ISO-9001 certified factories. In these factories the original cartridges are taken apart, cleaned, refilled and repaired to exacting quality standards. These cartridges work as well as the originals, provide excellent printing results and are completely compatible.

Some advantages of remanufactured ink cartridge are first their lower cost that can be from 1/3 to 1/2 off from the cost of original cartridges. Second way is that they are environmentally friendly. The plastic used in ink cartridges can take up to 1,000 years to decompose and they will release toxic elements into the earth so reusing cartridges causes a tremendous impact.
