Are Paper Business Cards Obsolete? Don't think So...

Technology is and should be part of our everyday life. The word app is part of our vocabulary already and lately there are new apps for iPhone that enable contact information trade with other people that have the app or via email. The concept of electronic business contacts is great and I think we should take advantage of it. But the death of paper business cards is not going to happen in any marketing business strategy any time soon.
The following are 3 reasons why paper business cards are still here to stay:
#1 – It’s Expected - It has been the way to give out contact info for quite some time and people know they’ll be able to get in contact with you that way. Yes iPhone and email are great but not everyone relies on them 100% all the time and though at some point everyone will have them now is not the time. Let’s remember that good business cards go along with your entire company stationary and are not very expensive so it really doesn’t save you much not printing your own business cards and have them ready. Why? Let’s go to the second reason.
# 2 - It’s Fast to Share – It really helps when time is limited to introduce yourself. Imagine there are only a few seconds so you don’t waste them getting an email or taking and asking for the other person to take out their iPhone. Spend the minutes talking about your business or the other persons while you give out the card. Nowadays cards have email info, webpage, twitter, Facebook and whatever other way to be in touch.
# 3 - You can have both – Now we do not want to imply that using apps such as CardFlick for example is bad or one practice should void the other one. You need to be flexible and having both contact information sharing activities ready will double your chances to make the right contact and the best impression.
In conclusion then we don’t mean to go against new apps and technology we just aim to defend a great business practice of having paper business cards. We have a couple of previous post to help you print your own business card printing.
