Canon Large Format Ink Cartridge Recycling

Canon printers are a favorite of many of our readers. But when their canon ink cartridges have done their job they need a proper place to rest forever or be reused properly. We are aware the printer ink and toner cartridges that end up in landfills every year can take at least 1,000 years to decompose. So proper disposal of canon cartridges is a must!

In this case we are talking about large format canon ink cartridges. An example of a large format printer is the imagePROGRAF iPF710 MFP that has scan-to-copy/file/e-mail solutions especially for CAD, MCAD, ECAD and GIS applications, with flexibility to handle all-purpose, office applications.

Now the question is... what do you do with large format ink cartridges after their working life is over? Canon answers that question by providing a collection program and this way support local recycling efforts. These large-format ink cartridges have been made mostly out of plastic material thus making recycling viable. To make it easier for local recycling procedures the cartridges have a plastic resin code engraved.

Now if for any reason there is no chance of recycling locally, Canon allows them to be returned via email at the customer’s expense. Once the cartridges are there they are disposed of properly. To know what cartridges are acceptable to send to Canon visit their collection program page.
