Cyber Monday: A scammer's paradise, given just how many emails, messages, and other communications are going to be flooding every single corner of your online life. And since the entire point of the day is to nail massive discounts on all the gadgets, home electronics, and geeky knick-knacks you've considered purchasing the past 364 days of the year, you're going to be tempted to throw security out the window in favor of a little bit of savings.

"Even more holiday shopping will happen online this year than last, and that means more scammers will be looking to do some shopping of their own—possibly at your expense," said ESET's Stephen Cobb, speaking to eWeek.

But don't get confused: Cyber Monday is just like any other day, and you don't need to turn your system or lifestyle into something worthy of Fort Knox just to do a little shopping.
